The mission of the Sacristan ministry is to prepare all items needed for the celebration of Mass, including: all vessels, cloths, books, hosts, and wine.
We also prepare the Church by opening the doors, turning on the lights and microphone, and lighting the candles. After Mass, we clean the vessels and return all items to their proper place.
We have the responsibility to keep the sacristy and sanctuary clean. Essentially, we are in charge of making sure all liturgical celebrations run smoothly. Training is provided by current sacristans and is required to perform in this ministry.
